MORE ABOUT MY PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

Family portraits are as unique as the families in them. My session style is relaxed, fun and I describe it as swift. For Ocean City Beach portraits, full sessions are typically done in around 30-40min for single families and 40-60min for extended families. I keep things moving quickly so little ones are fresh and happy and we typically do a mix of posed and less posed images for sessions. While we all love a good candid moment, I start with heavier posed images so everyone knows what to do with their hands and how to stand - this is also best for capturing everyone in best lighting. For family sessions I photograph on digital cameras but I do have the option to add a roll of film (please contact me about this ahead of time). My photography and editing style is pretty true to color - I like to see color in the skies and keep whites white when possible. I have a large client base who returns every year or every few years on vacation - it is so fun to watch families grow and change with each session.

PATIENCE is KEY

I love working with little ones and I know sometimes closer to sunset we are on borrowed time with inching close to bedtime. Kids do really well with me even later in the day because I am new, fresh and exciting to them. I have been working with families on the beach for a long time and have many tricks up my sleeve to keep kids engaged and happy. I do also offer sunrise sessions for my early birds. There is NOTHING like a sunrise session at the beach but during the summer that is about a 5:40am start time depending on the date. I do ask of any special needs of participating family members ahead of time, as a Mom of a child with a special need I understand that people are unique and knowing ahead of time of any physical or emotional limitations up front is helpful for me to prepare for your photography session to get the most out of our time together.

FAMILIES THRIVE WITH WALL ART

Displaying images around your home of your family together promotes a sense of well being & being loved by children and spouses. Hanging a large portrait in a high traffic area of your home is a beautiful way to enhance your sense of togetherness and remind you of fun occasions around the time the photos were taken. I love promoting printed work for this reason, while I do sell digital images there is a sense of pride for me as an artist seeing your beautiful families printed and for you to have them archived in a way that you are constantly reminded of the love you share. When was the last time you held photographs in your hand and went through photos? Perhaps at a family reunion, blessed occasion or party or even when someone passed away? Digital images don’t come close to conveying the feelings you have going through tangible images and memories, smelling the ink and feeling the paper on your fingertips - that is an experience on it’s own and your photos were meant to be passed down through hands and touched by your loved ones, not lost in technology
